Today is Giving tuesday! A day where we reach in our pockets, checkbooks or even under our couches to give to those who need us the most right now. Today, between 150-200 individuals experiencing homelessness are visiting My Friend's Place. Hundreds of meals, protective face masks, clothing items and hygiene supplies are being distributed to meet the urgent needs of our young people and community members. Case management sessions are taking place with physical distance in our back parking lot to support the mental and emotional well-being of our youth. Our Housing Case Managers are checking in with young people who have recently transitioned into housing to ensure that youth have the resources needed to remain safe and stable during this time. Our staff remain on the front lines of this crisis, knowing that the services offered at My Friend's Place are more critical now than ever before.

This #GivingTuesdayNow, our community needs your support in order to survive. COVID-19 has put increased demands on us all, and the board and leadership at My Friend's Place have made the difficult but necessary decisions to ensure that we can remain open while increasing our services and our supplies, to now serve three times more individuals each day than before the pandemic. Since the start of the COVID-19 crisis, My Friend's Place has shown up day after day to provide the resources needed to ensure the immediate survival of our young people, while still doing everything possible to continue supporting youth on their journeys toward a permanent exit from homelessness.

Right now, with matching funds provided by a generous community partner, every dollar raised up to $50,000 will be matched! Your doubled gift of support will ensure that youth experiencing homelessness have the necessary resources to survive the COVID-19 crisis, and continue their journeys toward self-sufficiency once the pandemic is over.
