Even in chaos, there is beauty.
Dubbed by geologists as the “chaos terrain”, the surface of Jupiter's ocean moon Europa features a widely varied landscape. This area contains blocks that have moved sideways, rotated or tilted before being refrozen into their new locations. To understand how they might have formed, scientists study these blocks as if they are jumbled puzzle pieces.
While experts may see this mysterious landscape as utter chaos, there is an unmistakable beauty to its erratic winding lines.
