Nothing really seemed appropriate when people are fearful and loved ones are dying. But then this image came through. @lisajarvis_stylist produced an ominous shoot for Vogue Portugal just before lockdown that we shared on the 20th of March with the prominent photo being the Docteur Sebban look with the plague mask. Well yesterday she sent though another image of that look for a @numero_netherlands shoot called Carnaval which felt equally timely. Model @maggiejmaurer lifting the plague mask from her face. Here in Denmark where we are stranded until the borders reopen and where the prime minister is being lauded for her swift and comprehensive treatment of the crisis kids are already out playing in the parks, families are out strolling, schools are opening (on a rota basis) and shops are beginning to trade all of which lends an optimistic atmosphere of “oh yeah, there is such a thing as the after-crisis..” So for now we’ll go with serendipity.
