Instead of mindlessly stretching in front of the TV, how about re-creating positions of climbing comps on the floor?
In this example, lie face-down on the ground. Can you get into internal rotation with your right hip as the climber can? Does your hip stay close to the ground as you try? Are you stretched to the outer limits of your range of motion, or do you still have something to give?
Remember that independent joint functions are needed before you can perform complex movement patterns!
