When we met, my TV gig had bumped me up from a co-star to series regular overnight without a deal and I would not see a major pay pump for two years (long story). Julie “hip pocketed” me until I could afford to pay her rates. I had never heard this term before - “so I pay you back?” “No, you START paying when you CAN.” The truth is, Julie knew if the show didn’t last, she would never get paid. During this period, I was on a steep learning curve about a lot of things - fame, adulting, money. Julie was there for everything. I’d never had someone represent me like that before. She was available for anything. Clothes shopping, apartment hunting, therapy... I learned show business from her. There was a period of months when I didn’t have an agent or manager or lawyer (long story), it was just me and Julie. And it was great - I only needed Julie and she made me feel like a star. We worked together like playmates, laughing and dreaming, but she always treated me like an adult. Once my salary crept up, Julie let me pay her, but it wasn’t until years later on another series making an above average salary that I finally learned how much she ACTUALLY cost. It was a lot! And she was obviously worth it and more! She worked for me for nothing. And during the years when I wasn’t on TV or on Broadway, she’d again work for me for nothing. But she was the same Julie to me no matter the publicity. And she was my friend. Over the years, when I’d go to LA, if I saw only one friend during a trip it was Julie. She treated everyone with kindness and respect (even on red carpets). When a server would ask what she’d like to drink, she’d say, “May I please have a Diet Coke without any fruit whatsoever.” She spoke and wrote beautifully. I would ask her to read anything I’d written to make sure it was grammatically correct and/or not stupid... she would’ve had a field day with this thing you’re reading. Now, she’s back with her beloved Tallulah (pictured) and out of pain. I will never forget her, and will forever owe her」4月28日 2時55分 - michaelurielikesit
