I’d already lived in #NewYorkCity for a long time when I took this picture—but the experience of photographing Dash Snow and Ryan McGinley together on the Bowery reminded me of that wonderful F. Scott Fitzgerald line, “the city seen for the first time, in its first wild promise of all the mystery and the beauty in the world.” Artists like Dash and Ryan have always been the wild soul of New York, and they always help me to see its beauty anew.”
