There has been a concerning rise in the number of hate crimes, racist attacks and acts of discrimination against Asian people in our city and all over the world. Congresswoman Judy Chu of California reported to MSNBC that reports of hate crimes on Asians have skyrocketed to 100 per day since the coronavirus outbreak.
I encourage all high school and college students to participate in a panel discussion and Q+A on anti-Asian racism happening tomorrow at 5 PM ET. The event is part of an online series called Our Time is Now, created for students by students, at the Korean American Community Foundation. They hope to motivate young people to affect positive change in our most vulnerable communities. To sign up, click the link in the @kacfny bio.
