No matter what I tried throughout the years she refused to give it another try. So when the #nikevictoryswim came out I jokingly mentioned this swimsuit could help her overcome her fear and still she wasn't having it until some women from her former non profit got together and were talking about the swimming lessons they were taking and how amazing it was even though they were very afraid at first too. One day she called me and said okay I'm just gonna do it Meryem they convinced me! Fortunately the lovely people from @nikewomen gifted her the entire set and she was ready to take the plunge (pun intended lmao) Sadly due to the pandemic she only had 3 lessons so far and this epic fail of a lesson I tried to give her during our last trip together(If you need some laughter please swipe through to the videos of my mum thinking I'm gonna drown her 🤣) . But still I am so incredibly proud of her that she got out of her comfort zone at 67 it just shows that you're never too old to learn new things and just do whatever it is you set your mind to.
