A homeless man is tested at Disinfection Center #2 in Lianozovo on the outskirts of Moscow several years ago. With COVID-19 numbers beginning to rapidly rise in Russia as well, the center, which disinfects, tests for and treats infectious diseases, is expected to become much busier.

The man’s tattoo depicting Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov (commonly referred to as Lenin) is meant for protection. Some prisoners naively believed that executioners were never to shoot at Soviet leaders like Lenin, who was born 150 years ago today.
