Wrangling fresh herbs and getting my hands floury has been a source of extra shiny joy for the past month and a half. Wait. Has it really been a month and a half? Actually, it's been longer. We first started modifying our routines the last week of February, when I (rather self-consciously) asked Matt to consider skipping his café work mornings. Then all but the most essential outings sputtered out by the second week of March. What do I miss? Nothing big: Peggy's training classes and play dates. The library. Popping out for a soy latte and some fresh produce at our local market. Standing on mountain tops or at the edge of the sea. The Seattle skyline. The bigger stuff I don't miss because it never got to happen: April with my parents. A May trip to Alaska we'd been imagining for six years. If I peer too far into the future, hope caves in under the pressure of the unknown. So I keep rinsing soil from my hands and wiping flour from my cheek, tethering myself to right now while tentatively sowing seeds for tomorrow. Maybe they'll grow. Maybe I'll have only the pleasure of planting them.」4月22日 13時39分 - robinmay

Wait.

Has it really been a month and a half? Actually, it's been longer. We first started modifying our routines the last week of February, when I (rather self-consciously) asked Matt to consider skipping his café work mornings. Then all but the most essential outings sputtered out by the second week of March.

What do I miss? Nothing big:
