At this time I find have been finding myself being triggered by the environment around me. Sometimes that’s on Instagram, sometimes in conversations or actions by people closest to me, sometimes it’s the news, and sometimes it’s because of the current situation of shelter in place and fear of the unknown. Whenever I feel this way I remind myself to pause, take a few really deep breaths, allow the feelings to rise, recognize where in my physical body the tension and pain is occurring, and to sit with whatever is happening. And then to pour, and by pour maybe I mean flood, love into myself.
It’s not easy and it’s uncomfortable but I know that if I do that for myself, if I love myself in my pain, I start to create acceptance for myself as I am right now. Then I am able to release all resistance and make a new choice from a place of love. ~

Here is a gentle seated heart opening sequence to practice at anytime of the day. Please feel free do this sitting down on a blanket, pillow, or chair if you have tight hips. Be mindful of your body and if you have any injuries, do not push them. Being gentle is a great kindness we can give ourselves at this time.

Enjoy the flow, enjoy the ride, we will survive, we will thrive.
