I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the single mothers and fathers at home. Having to keep food on the table for their families 24 hours a day without knowing when their next income will come to buy more. This is for the parents and grandparents who still have to work while supporting their families and keeping them safe at home. It’s for the kids who are not able to get their lunches from school as usual. I never want a child to feel as though they are not important or loved enough to eat and I never want parents who are working hard to feel as though they are not doing enough for their kids. Which I know is not the case , and why I am so grateful for these organizations to be of such incredible help. They are experiencing a huge increase in needs due to layoffs, school closures and other covid-19 complications, but have fewer food donations and volunteers than ever before.
