We live in one of the wealthiest countries in the world. We have some of the best schools, technology, scientists, military, etc. We had months to see this virus coming. So why are we now the epicenter? Why are our hospitals being overrun? Why are we so short on ventilators and protective equipment? Why aren’t we testing more? And we are far from seeing the worst of it.
Every group of humans is defined, directed and heavily influenced by their leaders. But when the leader is so blinded by their agendas that they can’t even hear the words of their closest advisors, we are in big trouble. It’s no secret that I have felt this way about the climate crisis for a long time, but now the failures are playing out in a very condensed time frame. Thanks @krakauernotwriting for pointing this article by Max Boot that so clearly lays out the failures. (link in my bio) I hope we can remember these days come election time.
