Grocery garden update! I’ve been planting veggies from the grocery store to try and get them to seed and take over this dirt slope behind our house that has erosion problems - and they’re taking off pretty well! I planted 6 cloves of garlic that were going bad, a red onion that sprouted, a sprouting potato, some basil, celery, chives, green onion, Mexican green onion, and carrots. So far the basil died, the celery is on it way out, the potato hasn’t broke the surface yet and something ate one of the Mexican green onion - but everything else is hanging in there! And we expect rain today! I’m no expert, my gardening style is the spray and pray, just plant a whole bunch of stuff and some things with live, flower, and seed to spite me. But you don’t have to be a botanist to not let your grocery scraps go to waste, stick ‘em in the ground and they may keep on paying off over and over generation after generation 🌱❤️ follow @browsey_acres to come along on our quest to live off our land and 100% sustainably!
