My entire life I’ve had a complicated relationship with food, and thankfully I’ve come a really long way. But even then, when #stayathome advisories began the prospect of being stuck inside with quarantine snacks & nothing to take my mind off them terrified me. Next, of course, came the realization of how shallow that sounds (I could hear “Kim, there’s people dying” in my conscience🤦🏻‍♀️) and a familiar feeling of shame set in. There’s a stigma attached to having these feelings and talking about them. . This isn’t something that’s easy to share, especially with everything else going on in the world. But it’s honest, it’s real, and it’s something millions of people with ED’s, or who have struggled with the vicious cycle of dieting, are facing right now. .
