Today’s LD tip is on chipping into the grain, a nasty shot but using the correct fundamentals will give you the best chance to hit it solid! I’m using my 54 deg SW but you could definitely use less loft too, the same rules apply. Of course you could just putt from here but that’s what practice is for, so you can master ALL the shots!

If you are stuck inside, even practicing this on a front door matt could also replica the into the grain feel. A few keys:

1) Ball position slightly forward of center - you don’t want the ball position back as that’s only going to expose too much of the leading edge of the club that digs.
2) For a right handed golfer, you want your right side of your body higher than usual, so you can increase the vertical attack angle to be able to get to the back of the ball.
3) You want to raise your hands & get the shaft more upright so the heel of the club is more off the ground, & so the toe of the club is down more which slides thru the grass more easily.
4) then simply rock your shoulders and watch the ball roll end over end towards the hole 😀
