ローレン·ランドルフさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ローレン·ランドルフInstagram)「In my final year of college, my Dad was interviewed about these animal bikes he made by the @renonewsreview. When @bynamite showed up to do the interview without a photographer, I asked if I could shoot the photo to have it published with the article. I was thrilled to receive my first byline in a printed publication. Less than a month later the editor, @d.brian.astrotigertales, reached out to me about filling the empty photography position. I was working at a deli, actively saving money for when I planned to move after I graduated. So, I politely declined the offer. I'm not really sure why, but I don't think I believed I could actually make money taking pictures. Brian looked at me very sternly and said: "You're trying to move to become a photographer. I'm offering you a job as a photographer. Wouldn't it be better to move with a resume?" And that's how I began my photography career. I just found out that the Reno News & Review is suspending publication. Times are already tough for print journalism, and this specific one relied on the ad revenue from the restaurant, bar, art, and nightlife scene in Reno - all of which has come to a stop due to COVID-19. This is heavy for so many reasons, but it felt important to show some love to Brian & Brad for truly believing in me from the very start. I owe them for allowing me such creative freedom and giving me the confidence to trudge forward into the intimidating world as a working photographer. I'm thankful for the experiences I had meeting, learning, engaging and photographing some of Reno's best of the best. The Reno News & Review is a local staple, it won't feel right not grabbing a copy every time I come back to town. [Cont. in comments]」3月20日 10時07分 - laurenlemon
