Daily Watchさんのインスタグラム写真 - (Daily WatchInstagram)「The Omega Speedmaster “Tintin” from 2013. The watch was original developed at some point during the 2000s as a tribute to the comic book character Tintin. He was the first fictional man on the Moon in a comic published in 1954. He visited the Moon in his famous red & white chequered rocket - hence the design of this Speedmaster’s dial. The original prototype design featured not only the racing type checkered (ref & white) minute track present in this model but also the famous rocket itself at 11 o’clock. As Omega failed to get copyright and license approval, the project was partially canned and the original design was shelved. Fast forward several years and in 2013 the model pictured here was released - a thinly veiled tribute of sorts. It carried the same minute scale but the rocket was absent. Production ceased around 2016 - though some debate exists on whether it was discontinued earlier and NOS were being sold later. It very well could have been a much shorter production. This theory makes sense too, after all, it was almost universally hated upon its initial release. Something that couldn’t be further from the truth today. Production numbers are estimated anywhere between 1,000-2,000 pieces. Photo by @sydney_watch_guy. Text by @horology_ancienne」3月18日 18時37分 - dailywatch
