I worked in the crisis Psych ER unit on a campus dedicated only for mental health services for 13yrs. We got through SARS , Bird Flu, Swine Flu, MERSA , Hurricane Sandy together. This meme takes me back to hurricane sandy. we were in the hospital for days sleeping wherever we could find. We did one hell of a job for our unit.By the time I resigned , the patient staff ratio was terrible! 2yrs prior Trump cut a lot of fundings for mental health departments across the nation. So departments in near by towns were being shut down. All their clients funneled into us , as we are a state regional hospital. Today I’m thinking of my old unit. My prayers goes out to them and ALL health care professionals in ALL departments during this current pandemic. 🙏🏼 I know how taxing it is to the body n the mind and how scary it can be. I especially pray for those in the mental health field bc sadly , it is always at the bottom of the poll. We need to send out good energy into the world. It’s very real! Pray, be kind , be present and most of all be cautious 🌎 No need to panic. That toxicity spread faster than fire and can lead to so much worse.
