From shooting in Italy with @personabymr to the last 16years of an up hill battle trying to figure out how I could break through in an industry that told me I’d never “make it”. A lot, a LOT has happened in the last 16years it’s overwhelming to see the growing diversity in fashion (still a ways to go) but growing up in England at 13 the only images of models I saw (and therefore wanted to look like) were sample size US 0-2 I had no idea the plus size industry existed. When I eventually did seek out a plus size agency I was told I didn’t fit into that side of the industry either and I felt hopefulness, wondering what is wrong with my body? Thankfully I never gave up with 100’s of no’s and rejection and eventually found @jagmodels who believed in challenging the industry standards to represent who a woman is, not have the size she wears be her definition. I realise this won’t be a relatable message to everyone and I’m highly aware of my privilege I’m white, cis, able bodied with blonde hair and blue eyes but I knew if I could break through that was the minimum and had to be the beginning.
