1996 promo edit for @birdhouseskateboards. It was such a strange but formative time in skateboarding; street skating was emerging and vert was progressing more than ever but it was considered antiquated by most of the [small] industry. There were very few of us skating vert, even fewer vert ramps, and very little appreciation for the revolution of tricks happening (SOUND FAMILIAR?). @spottampa was a beacon of hope in a sea of shuttered skateparks so the vert diehards would converge there every so often, and it was glorious.
Fun tidbits: the beginning animation was the extent of my Video Toaster / Lightwave skills, and the last clip is (was?) a skatepark in Little Rock that NOBODY rode at the time. We pulled up in our tour van, I jumped out while the street rats waited in car, shot this invert, and we hit the road again on the way to doing a demo in a skate shop parking lot.
