All day today I was stressing out over whether or not I was going to attempt a triple lutz for the first time in 3 years on show ice in our performance of AXEL tonight.
And then I logged on to find out the terrible news that @joshua_brown had passed away today and it dawned on me how utterly stupid it was that I was stressing out over this dumb, worthless, and minute decision in my life. His passing is all I've been able to think about all day, sitting heavy on my heart.
Now I'm not going to sit here and pretend that Josh and I were close. He messaged me on instagram and we conversed, exchanged likes over the years, and agreed we would meet each other one day.
The last thing I said to him was, "I can't wait to hear about it. Hopefully one day! 🙂" to which he replied, "Don't you worry, you will!"
I'm devastated that we will never have the chance to meet as I'm sure judging from the few conversations we had, what I've heard from mutual friends, and what everyone has written about you that we woud have gotten on like wildfire. I felt compelled to write this to help contribute to your memory.
Tonight's lutz was for you.
