Ashley Jamesさんのインスタグラム写真 - (Ashley JamesInstagram)「As it's Valentine's Day tomorrow, I wanted to share a text I received from a friend yesterday: "Every time I walk past a flower shop full to the brim with red roses I somehow feel shame and lonliness and I know I’ve been programmed by films and corporations to feel that but it still seems to hurt!" 💔🥀 And you know as single positive as I was the last few years, I totally get it. As commercial as it is, Valentine's Day can suck because for me, I always love celebrating love and romance, and I'd feel left out and lonely. Apart from last year when I organised a dinner party and a chef for me and about 10 single friends and all my friends in relationships were jealous! 🌹 So anyway, if you're reading this and you relate, let me tell you what I told my friend: Yes it's a celebration of love that you might not feel totally a part of at the moment, but that doesn't mean you won't be enjoying it next year or the year after and you'll appreciate it so much more then. Next, just because you see couples celebrating, it doesn't mean they're happy. Read that again. Someone posting their roses online with 'Boy done good' doesn't mean that their relationship is healthy and fulfilling. I know it's cringe, but honestly the biggest love of our lives is ourselves, so use the day to love yourself. Book a massage, watch Bridget Jones in your pants, go for dinner with girlfriends, or buy a vibrator on the way home. Celebrate love and friendships! ❤️ I'm so grateful I was single for so many years because I feel I have such an appreciation now for a healthy relationship, because I learnt to be happy alone so I don't NEED anyone. But also, it's given me understanding for the lonely side of being single, which is why tomorrow I'm still having my dinner party with a chef and some of my favourite friends and my boyfriend. Some in couples, some single. Because we can still celebrate love whilst ensuring our friends aren't lonely! So if you're in a relationship, make sure you text your single friends and tell them you love them too! Send them flowers! Invite them out with you! And remember, it's just another day and all our days should be filled with love. ❤️🌹 #ValentinesDay #lingerie」2月14日 6時53分 - ashleylouisejames
