Have you ever heard of “Yu-momi (湯もみ)?
Since the Edo period, this job of cooling down the hot spring bath was a real thing.
The thermal spring water can be as hot as 50℃ in Kusatsu onsen area, so it needs to be cooled down. Nowadays there are different ways to do so, but in the past (and in some smaller baths still) it was common to cool down the water by „mixing“ it with large wooden paddles.😳 At Kusatsu onsen „Netsu no Yu“ you can see a Yu-momi show daily. 😍👌🏻 I have an earworm from the song now 😆
PS: don’t miss the last video!

草津の熱の湯にて湯もみショーを見に行きました❤️
江戸時代からの長い歴史で、温泉の温度を下げる作業。
草津の湯もみ曲は好きになっちゃって、、早速プレイリストに追加w👌🏻❤️
