This pandemic is awful and locking down millions of people in the cities to Westerners should be viewed as a human rights violation. Yet, instead of acknowledging the pain and suffering, people are using this opportunity to spew hatred for others. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who has been affected, and I hope we are able to get it under control and find a vaccine quickly. If the illegal transactions of wild animals like donkeys, camels, foxes, badgers, hedgehogs and rats created this disease then this is not the first virus that has mutated. Sars and Mers are both thought to have originated in bats where civets was an intermediate host for Sars between bats and humans. Camels played the intermediate host for Mers (Middle East respiratory syndrome) The Wuhan market has since been shut and I hope they remain that way. Don’t forget swine flu and avian flu also comes from animals which has had millions of animals culled in order to avoid human to human mutation and transmission. There are many lessons to be learned from an outbreak such as the Coronavirus and divisive words and actions are not part of it. Please continue to pray for those affected.
