When I ran track in high school i gained muscle so fast that I started getting puffy white lines where my skin was stretching, and it made me so insecure for some reason. I’d pull my shorts down at track meets so that people wouldn’t see them, I wouldn’t let boys touch where they were, and at the time when I had them they were fresh and puffed out of my skin. The moral of the story is that I love my stretch marks now, the things that you fear make you different when you’re younger go from a fear to realization that what I thought were flaws weren’t even close. Who cares about scars, moles, birth marks, stretch marks, or small things that make you different. Your true power is your voice, the love that you show for people, and the control you have over your own life.
