When I was younger I was more comfortable being a girl who doesn't do good under pressure, than being good and than everyone would expect something from me on the next competition. I always screwed up something on a competition and everyone would say: that's how she is, unstable and nervous. But in reality I was so scared to be good, cuz if I would fail than I would be too disappointed. Thank god I'm not that girl anymore. I went through a lot to figure out how to have high goals and deal with disappointments that came on my way. I used to make up excuses for my bad performance in my head already before the competition, to make it more bearable and I could say: "I knew it" at the end and would feel better. Noone knew what my thoughts are and even I didn't do it on purpose. I was trying to be brave, consciously trying to shut negative thoughts down, but it was just in me, until I found a comfortable spot with myself. First step was when I didn't want to talk about my proboems, my injuries, so it wouldn't be an excuse for bad performance. Now I can talk about it easily and tell my gials at the same time with confidence. It took me many years to believe in myself, to let myself be good and deal with bad performances which were not "me" anymore, but they were just bumps on my road.
