Baboons, African Wild Dogs and Servals were just some of the iconic wildlife I recently photographed for @ナショナルジオグラフィック and @insidenatgeo in Mozambique’s Niassa National Reserve. In 2020 I have two more trips scheduled to continue to document one of Africa’s least photographed and written about wildernesses. Inhabited by prolific biodiversity and about 60,000 indigenous people, there were many moments in this reserve the size of Switzerland, when I felt that I came close to experiencing Africa the way it was before colonialism, the slave trade and Rinderpest (a bovine disease) altered the balance of people and nature on the continent.
