Did you know that seabirds use tools? Alongside primates, parrots and crows, Atlantic puffins have recently been documented using tools in Iceland. On the small island of Grimsey puffins use sticks to scratch themselves and possibly even remove ticks with. In 2017 I spent a month in Iceland photographing Atlantic puffins as part of my @ナショナルジオグラフィック magazine story about the global seabird crisis. Unfortunately I never got to see puffins using tools on Grimsey or at any of the other colonies I visited, but was able to make a few memorable images showcasing the life of Puffins underneath the northern midnight sun.
