I felt like I was on a hamster wheel— fruitlessly running my tail off toward work, relationships, and a sense of purpose that I just couldn’t seem to grab a hold of, and repeating patterns of thinking and behavior that left me in the same place I had begun, stagnating growth in nearly every facet of my life. By the end of that year I had decided to hit the reset button on my life by leaving everything behind and moving out of the country. I needed to slow down, detach from the identities I clung to, get still, and allow what was truly meant for me to reveal itself. To stop forcing progress by sheer will and let the universe guide me toward the right and proper path. And guided I was, through a whirlwind of excitement, adventure, love, and fulfillment beyond my wildest dreams. Today, I bid farewell to one of the best years of my life. I spent the last day of 2019 strolling the streets of Paris with my soulmate, reflecting on the ways my heart has healed and expanded over the last decade, how much I’ve learned from each challenge, and how much more growth is possible.
