Like so many I’ve spent the greater part of my life counting calories, fighting natural cravings, documenting digits, ignoring my intuition, fighting my femininity and fleeing from my fears until my happiness was held hostage to the external validation and false security of a skewed perspective on bones and skin. So many pictures of moments tainted by my initial urge to pick apart and compare my body and face. What’s worse was the second beating of guilt that came with feeling like what I was posting and following online might be part of the problem. I struggled to share more this year than ever because I started asking myself *why* any time I went to create something (then documented every answer that didn’t fall under the “outside validation” category and started using those for better guidance to create) I’ve spent 2019 doing a shiiiiit ton of deep healing so that I could share a happier/healthier message with more effectiveness and better transparency — I gained a healthy 10lbs back on my bones, I kept a journal for the times I found myself feeling disconnected from my body or mind and tried not to judge when I noticed myself admiring unhealthy standards and redirected my focus to healthier thoughts and role models instead. In truth, sharing felt like it came second to searching this year but what I found in all those questions and curiosities was a better understanding of what I want to see more of, create, share and stand for in 2020! Feeling confident and comfortable in your mind, body and soul is the new decade mood; both on and offline, personally and professionally ✨ Our digital world is thick and it’s only getting deeper my friends — while I’ll always love when I notice my hard work paying off in the form of abs and may just post it, I want to feel just as full of love, pride and joy as a bloated Buddha bowl belly with no shame in sharing those angles too.
