Looking back at 2019, we are absolutely in awe of the work you’ve created and your impeccable taste. These are some of the photos we shared this year that received the most likes. Collectively, these images paint a portrait of the world we wish to live in. One in which diversity is a core value. One in which breastfeeding and menstruation are seen as the beautiful acts of nature they are. One in which trans and GNC individuals, as well the entire LGBTQIA community, are celebrated as gorgeous, complex human beings and admired for their honesty and resilience. One in which all bodies are seen as valid goddess forms worthy of love — especially those with disabilities, wrinkles, body hair, stretch marks. Together, we can create this future. To accomplish this goal, we must continue promoting and hiring female and non-binary creatives, those who highlight these individuals and themes that are often marginalized and underrepresented. This year, we hired 378 creatives for jobs around the world, capturing inspiring, authentic representations of women and non-binary people. This includes our Project #ShowUs with Dove and Getty, which happens to be one of our 2019 most-liked photos above — not to mention won a Glass Lion award! Thank you again to our wonderful community for making this all possible and, through your work, continuing to challenge the status quo and creating the type of world we want to live in. In 2020, you can count on us to do everything we can to help create that world. We’ll continue putting our hearts into closing the gender gap one job at a time via our jobs platform, the Girlgaze Network. And, soon, we’ll be bringing brand partners onto the platform to create even MORE paid jobs opportunities and launch projects that get more eyes on your work than ever before.
