🗳...Over the last few weeks I’ve barely been able to listen to the news without my stomach lurching. I’ve felt so despondent seeing newspaper headlines where nothing appears honest, and such a deep sense of despair at Boris’ inarticulate buffoonery and avoidance...The dark, upsetting cloud hanging over everyone here in the UK at the moment because of the election tomorrow feels palpably heavy and immovable...How a government can so nonchalantly lie about so many things, to not care that they’re lying, and even feel clever about their lies is deeply disturbing. We currently have an arrogant far right government which has knowingly set people against each other, particularly over Brexit, and has been responsible for inciting prejudice and hate. Their elitist lust for power, not to mention their want to sell the NHS, is all based on their need to stay rich, powerful and protected, not because they care about the poverty and austerity right under their noses ...I acknowledge that no political party is perfect, but the idea that the Tories are our ‘best bet’ right now, is a really terrifying thought...Tomorrow I will use my privilege to VOTE for a party that may have flaws but is a party which is SO much more than Boris and his Tories could ever be...
In Brighton I am lucky enough to have @carolinelucasbrighton as MP but wherever you are in the country, the important thing is to USE YOUR VOTE ♻️🌿🌳 🌹💫
