リーケ・ウェイファースさんのインスタグラム写真 - (リーケ・ウェイファースInstagram)「Can't describe how meaningful this year was to me..Exactly 1 year ago I stepped back into the gym to make a start, to discover if I felt that real passion for our beautiful sport again, and to see what I'm still capable of after the rough time I came back from at that moment. My thought which helped and fueled me since I was a young girl: "You can rise up from anything", was in the back of my mind, every single day. During the heaviest moments in my burnout, but also later at the challenging or victorious moments. I must say though, I have been blessed with the people around me who helped me in this journey, who have given me their love so freely, I can't thank those people enough who were there for me and helped me to rise up again. It has been a lot this year, and I can look back very proud on the amazing process towards the highlights. It always has it's difficulties on the road as well, but I see it as a big adventure to always discover more and grow as a person from every experience on the road to your dreams. My personal comeback, and the team mission this year, it's been amazing! So happy that we opened the gate to the exciting road to Tokyo 2020 as a team! Right now we are in Tokyo, for inspiration and preparation for next year! But before I can really start the next journey, I have to recover myself.. I got some injuries from the intense traject to Worlds, so I really need to take care of myself now, on every aspect to get fully recharged for the Olympic year! These dreams take a lot of effort, physically, mentally, emotionally, but it is as well so rewarding and fulfilling to live your life on its best, with love for what we do, and with the people we love.
