We move in this next week so I’ve been rushing to get these done in time! You can swipe to see progress shots and a video of the complete lamp. There’s way too many detailed steps to make a shade like this, but here it is simplified: •cover the wire frame with binding ribbon [this is so you can sew directly into the contour of the frame]. •sew on the lining. [I usually choose brighter fabrics so that light can reflect more brilliantly through the layers of fabric]. •sew on the base color. [for this lamp I chose a sateen fabric that I hand dyed to be a rusty orange]. •sew on lace/mesh, as well as final gimp trim. [I chose the emerald green lace that I strategically cut shapes that fit the shapes of the frame]. •sew beaded fringe along the bottom edge, and conceal with gimp trim.
