I’ve been writing songs since I was 15... thankfully I had the presence of mind to write most of them behind closed doors so I could suck in private & without embarrassment. I remember taking the top pop songs of the late 90s and re-crafting new melodies and lyrics over the existing chord progressions to try and understand arrangement and melodic shape… So, thank you David Foster, Diane Warren, Babyface: From 2000 to 2003 most of the songs I wrote were using your chords. I spent 2 years in Nashville after college getting schooled like crazy up and down music row with people I still believe to be the best lyricists in the game...thanks to all of u (too many to mention). Then the OG GOAT @timbaland tracked me down, signed me, and gave me a 2 year masterclass in his genius... I am forever grateful Tim. My first cut was Bubba Sparxxx on the Deliverance album and between that and @onerepublic the rest is history. I’m grateful I still get to do this job & artists & other writers still wanna ring me up and make some noise. I’ll keep doing it til it’s not fun....
