Pretty gutted to hear Australia will only be sending athletes they think can make a final to the next World Junior Championships. It seems pretty crazy to me to be depriving so many athletes of a meaningful competition and pathway. I know for a lot of aspiring young athletes including myself back in the day, World Juniors is an amazing opportunity which motivates athletes at an age when a lot drop out of the sport. I really hope for the sake of all our up and coming athletes and for the development of athletics in Australia this decision is reconsidered.
