Paolo Scheggi was a young Italian artist known for his abstractions which created shallow space and light by superimposing monochromatic surfaces and overlapping elliptical holes creating which served more as objects than paintings . His work was exhibited in several Venice Biennales and during his short life was part of the avant-garde ZERO group against dominant postwar expressionist movements.
