I called him for an update about my dog and upon not receiving a response, I ended up calling the trainer and at that  moment I discovered the tragic news. When I got there, to my shock and horror, my poor Dutch was lying lifelessly, stone cold on a hammock. We demanded for CCTV footage, but the trainer was obstinate in his inability to provide it.  Because he “forgot his password,”. Upon threats of calling the police, he admitted that he was just concocting a bunch of excuses and this was all a lie and he had purposely reformatted the CCTV footage. With the help of the police, we were finally able to procure the CCTV footage. On the CCTV, we could only see our dog stumbling back into his kennel. It was apparent that there were no steps taken to follow up on Dutch’s poor condition.  We gave the trainer an ultimatum: to post a sincere apology and pay reparations for Dutch’s death in an amount which he felt equated to his guilty actions.  He outright refused, stating his constitutional right to abstain from making an apology which he believed went “against his conscience.” . I have come to the conclusion that this is part of a greater societal problem in South Korea.  We have not enacted laws  that are strong enough to regulate animal abuse or mistreatment.  Just because Dutch was a dog does not negate the fact that he is not entitled to the same sense of safety as the rest of us. . In light of this, I  have posted a national petition on the government website which is centred on  the strengthening of animal protection laws. I intend it to be a way for us Koreans to open our eyes and realize that our  animal companions deserve the same safety and protection as human beings.」12月2日 16時46分 - thebrianjoo
