To lead the Veteran’s Roll Call with @billseki at the #goforbroke30 gala on behalf of my late grandfather was the highest honor for not only me but the entire history of my family. It really struck me. There are so little of the Nisei veterans left (15 or less), most of them being 100 years of age or older, but they somehow all managed to stand up on that stage with the deepest sense of pride. And of course jokes and smiles in true JA fashion. This is what being Japanese American represents to me. Resilience, honor and the strength to stand up for what you believe in even in the toughest of times.
