"The fires to the north had brought a blanket of smoke and haze to Sydney. I usually like to shoot from the water but that morning time wasn’t on my side, so I left my wetsuit and water housing at home and took a stroll on the beach.
Making my way along the shore I came across a small group of surfers. The ocean was almost completely flat, all except for one small bank that was producing a perfect, tiny trimmable wave.
As the sun touched the horizon the usual powerful white light was defused by the smoke hanging in the still air. It was incredible. The red sun illuminated the waves as the surfers cruised by smiling from ear to ear." - @surfandearth
