This image was shot from the observation car of a train going from Portland to San Francisco. Photographing from a train isn’t easy; you can barely see what’s coming up and then it’s gone before you even realize what was there. This is probably the luckiest image I’ve taken from a train. The boats lined up neatly, the birds in the corner flew just so, and Mount Hood sat pretty in the background.
