An Australian woman rescued a burned koala from a bushfire in New South Wales. The marsupial has been treated for burns but is still in a “very serious condition,” according to Port Macquarie Koala Hospital. Soaring temperatures, strong winds and a drought that has lasted more than two years have contributed to the deadly bushfires. More than 100 schools have closed in South Australia, and in New South Wales flames have already destroyed three times more land than during the entire fire season last year. With the Australian summer not officially starting until December 1, there are fears the situation will only get worse. #climatechange #wildfires
