"People have always been good at imagining the end of the world, which is much easier to picture than the strange sidelong paths of change in a world without end.” — Rebecca Solnit, Hope in the Dark

With fires burning across so much of New South Wales and Queensland, we are reminded that we have to face up to the climate breakdown we're in, and begin building a more regenerative culture.

We’ve got so much work to do: from a swift and just transition to renewables, to making companies accountable for their pollution.
One of the easiest things is to simply protect and restore the places that store carbon.
Australia is home to the southern hemisphere's largest temperate rainforest - takayna / The Tarkine. It has no formal protection and there are plans to continue logging old-growth forest. If more Australians see it they’ll want to protect and preserve it. It’s not only a great carbon store, it’s one of our greatest natural wonders.
