Horses graze on grass in the waters of Napa Lake, Shangrila. Back on the Tea Horse Road, or Chamagudao, the ancient trading route where Chinese tea was exchanged for Tibetan horses for over a thousands years. Driving from Yunnan to Lhasa on an expedition sponsored by #Songtsam Lodges. It’s been 10 years since I traveled this route on assignment for National Geographic for the story, “The Forgotten Road”
