I’d love to say that they won and we’d be celebrating right now with the team. But that did not happen. We lost by ONE point and my heart was devastated for the team. Their season is over and most of the kids will be on a different team next season. It’s crazy how not only children bond but the parents do as well. With a strong speech at the end by our coach, the kids all shook hands and we walked to our car. I already was tearing up on the walk but the second we got into the car, Ky started crying and then I lost it. I never thought a game could break my heart. It breaks for him and his efforts. For the whole team’s efforts. But that is life and that is what we will continue to go through while Ky plays. The ups and the downs. On a positive note, I’ve never seen this team work so hard at communicating and working together. They’ve come so far and I am so proud of each kid. This game was incredible and both teams were amazing. At least the kids got to go home with a nice snack / goodie bag that Ky brought in his @1stphorm backpack. I tried ❤️ Here’s to next season.
