Aya Shalkarさんのインスタグラム写真 - (Aya ShalkarInstagram)「Isn’t it funny how they force a woman to choose whether she is the “Muse” or the “Artist”. All my life I’ve been feeling torn between two substances that I can’t even explain or put into words. At 18, I got a tattoo, a wisdom tooth and a canine tooth next to each other, which was the closest metaphor of that feeling I imagined. Little did I know its meaning is only going to grow overtime. A never ending inner conflict of strength and tenderness, of action and thought, of physical and mental, of a warrior and a sage. Yet, I think this very combination is exactly what makes me what I am today and I’m not willing to compromise. Sometimes it gets difficult, sometimes it flows naturally by itself. But both energies are always there and will be. Whether people understand it or not, or accept me as one or another. The stereotypes are old and strong. It’s hard to carve something that feels like an entirely new path, not really having references or examples to compare with or aspire to be. But that is exactly what an artist does, isn’t it. 🦷」11月10日 3時26分 - aya_shalkar
