As I draw closer to the end of my first year in the thirties, longevity becomes something I think about more often.
I used to make it a point to move more with the sole purpose of directly improving my climbing. I’ve benefited for sure but my reasons are evolving.
I don’t know how long I want to exist (haha) but if I happen to still be around in 30-40 years I sure would like to be able to move, as I do now. This train of thought was inspired by one of the weekly newsletters by @yuenjon -
“I don't do this to get my blood pumping, hypertrophy or for the sake of calorie expenditure.
I go through these motions because I want to be able to do them for as long as I live.”
I’ll be honest, I don’t always wake up looking forward to it, no one does, and some days... I don’t. It is getting easier to convince myself to move in the morning, it’s almost a habit now. Mornings are the hardest, but to me, also the best because getting mobilized at the start usually equates to a better day.
