Robert EVANS treated me like a son and led me every step of the way through a business I had no clue how to navigate. It feels like ever major decision I made he helped me with. When I was deciding what movies to direct Bob would read the script. He would even write the letters to my then girlfriend when I wanted to end a relationship and when I changed my mind because I was heartbroken Bob would call and beg her to come back to me. Bob even got @paramountpics to bring me on the lot and give me a deal when New Line ended my deal and I had nowhere to go. He had Paramount give me half his overhead and offices. I don’t know anyone in this town that would of ever done that! He knew I needed it and he was there for me through thin and thin. This photo is from his wedding in Mexico. He had asked me to be his best man at what I believe was his 6th marriage. It was a fabulous wedding and that evening after it was over Bob had his bride summon me to their room. I thought something was wrong so I ran over very quickly. When I arrived the bride and Bob were on the bed in silk pajamies and when I asked if everything was ok his bride said Bob wanted you to share the evening with us. I said it’s your wedding night you two should be sharing it together I shouldn’t be here. She said Bob loves you he insists and wants you here. Needless to say she was very cool and we sat in bed and talked about everything under the sun until it came up. Who does that for a young filmmaker who he knew looked up to him so? Bob made me feel loved, validated my talent, and showed me what true friendship was. One day I saw Bob’s wife checking into the Beverly Hills Hotel. I called Bob immediately thinking that it was weird. Bob said “yes I know kid...she’s out and your in, pack your bags you are moving in with me”! That became the greatest two years of my life. Bob would have his Butler ENGLISH bring me breakfast in bed every day I was there and made me feel like a prince. As you can imagine I sat on his bed for those two years and didn’t just pick his brain I ate it.」10月29日 4時29分
