I left him one night in a pet hospital, but decided to take him back home and organized his “moment” in a cozy, quiet, loving space, aka “in bed”... Flash had a kidney chronic disease for years and we knew that this would eventually happened. What I didn’t know was how fast it could happen and how life would become without him. Around 2AM on Friday I understood Flash was ready to go. I called an extraordinary incredible kind young vet. Before she arrived I explained him what was about to happen, we FaceTimed my parents and Matt, and I tried to put words on the love I have for him. The vet stayed 1 hour and 40 mins. She explained everything, took her time, talked to him, answered my questions (medical and spiritual) shared her personal experiences with her cat and other little hairy souls. She checked Flash’s medical record and confirmed it was time... I turned on a nice soft light and prepared a playlist. I put him on my chest with his face against my lips to shower him with little kisses. She then sent him to sleep... He was relaxed, calm, ready. I talked to him before, during and after the process. He left in peace with so much Love and grace. I kept him against me for a while, as if I needed to process that all of this was real, we then put him in a cute burrito position rolled into a soft blanket Matt bought for him a couple days ago. He looked so beautiful and at peace. And then they left. His soul is gone and back where it belongs. The cremation was today. I will receive the ashes this week. I promised Flashoupichu that I will spread some of them to the Machu Pichu, LA, and his favorite back yard in the alps. ;) Flash was the most loving soul. My heart is in peaces and I can’t imagine what life is going to be without him. He was my everything, my best friend. He licked my tears and literally pat my face when I was sad.
